RuneClick is out
RuneClick is live on Steam.
It is a game that lives on your desktop. Your character stands off to one side while you work, and the keys and clicks you are already making, in any window, train whatever skill you have picked. Point it at a rock and mine, at a tree and chop, at a fire and cook. There are no timers and no bar to sit and wait on. Your own input is the whole engine.
Six skills, start to finish
Woodcutting, Fishing, and Mining pull raw materials out of the world. Smithing, Cooking, and Crafting turn them into something worth more. Every skill runs from level 1 up a long ladder of tools and resources, and the top of each one, elder logs and runite ore and swordfish, sits a very long way off. Sell what you make, bank what you need, and watch a real economy stack up behind you as the numbers climb. Every skill has its own global leaderboard too, so there is always someone above you to chase.
Made to sit in the background
The window is transparent and always on top, so the character rides along over whatever else you have open. It can launch with Windows and tuck down into the taskbar. Keyboard, mouse, and gamepad all feed it, which means the time you spend doing everything else on your PC is time your skills are climbing. Glance over now and then, change what you are training, and get back to what you were doing. There is a full modding system in here too, so anyone who wants to add their own skills, items, or art can.
Free from here on out
Future updates are free. No DLC, no expansion packs, no premium currency. This is spare-time work around a day job, so I am not putting dates on anything, but the list is long and all of it lands for free: rare drops for the skills that do not have them yet, content past the current ceiling, cosmetics you pay for in gold, and a few bigger things I would rather show than promise. If a community mod turns out to be a great fit for the base game, I would like the option to polish it up and ship it with credit.
